DVD-1013 A Survey of the Book of Revelation
(See promotional video below)
• 4 DVDs containing over eleven hours of instruction.
(Which is much better than eleven DVDs containing four hours of instruction!)
• Each DVD contains six lectures each of around thirty minutes each.
(I can't think of anything funny to say about this. Sorry.)
• Perfect for small group Bible studies or a Sunday school program.
(Large groups, though, may become restive and snort from time-to-time.)
• A free downloadable syllabus for note-taking is available on this website. It may be copied for students.
(In fact, it can be copied for aluminum storm door salesmen who refuse to participate.)
Revelation is a difficult book that has confounded the best minds of the church and been abused by the most naive populists throughout Christian history. It is so difficult that even John himself was perplexed, as we see in Revelation 17:6-7.
In Revelation we meet bizarre creatures such as fire-breathing horses with locust tails, a seven-headed beast, a woman standing on the moon, and more. What does al of it mean? How can we understand Revelation’s dramatic narrative? When did John expect these things to transpire?
In these twenty-four careful, down-to-earth lectures is provided a basic introduction to and survey of the entire Book of Revelation. The viewer will receive important interpretive tools for understanding the dramatic flow and bewildering imagery of Revelation. And with those tools in hand we will work our way through the book from beginning to end — in short, clear, insightful, and compeling lectures.

Responses
"My wife and I enjoyed this series and now can read Revelation with greater clarity and understanding. The introduction itself is well worth the cost. For those who have been exposed to Revelation taught from a Dispensational framework like me - a picky choosy of verses fitting in that view - this is an eye opener!" (E.C.)
"I highly recommend this series, which I own also." (Jay Culotta)
"Very clear summary of the essentials." (David H.)

TRULY APPRECIATE PREPARATION AND KNOWLEDGE MR. GENTRY HAS ON THE BOOK OF REVELATION'S INTERPRETATION AND THE WAY IN WHICH HE SHARES IT, NOT LECTURING OR IMPOSING HIS VIEW, BUT ALLOWING THE VIEWER TO TAKE IT IN AND DIGEST IT.

I like your approach to the REVELATION. It is a comfort to know that Jesus Christ can come at any time to judge. We don't have to look for another event prior to his coming. I appreciate your honesty that you don't know the exact meaning of every detail of every symbol in the book.

Your DVD lesson series on Revelation was a real eye-opener. Excellent. I can't believe I so thoroughly missed what was right in front of me for darn near close to 33 years!!!

In my opinion the value of the content in this DVD series far exceeds the purchase price. In this series Dr Gentry provides a chapter by chapter review with much of the text of Revelation being covered verse by verse. You will notice that he goes to great length to align himself with the hermeneutic of "scripture interprets scripture" rather than the newspaper exegetical approach of many so called experts of today. In particular his analysis of the two witnesses in Rev 11 (which is one of the more difficult passages) was VERY good. His analysis of the beast in Rev 13, mark of the beast in Rev 13, and the harlot of Rev 17 were spot-on and convincing. Personally, I found his analysis of the New Jerusalem revelatory (non pun intended). The outline notes provided are helpful but for my purposes I preferred to pretend I was in a classroom and took my own notes using my laptop which allowed me to put more info in than what was covered in the outline provided. Sometimes I had to put "Ken" on pause or even rewind him a bit to make sure that I got all the content into my notes.

I have purchased 4 or 5 of your books and I just love the topic and you have helped open my eyes to dispensationalism and Revelation.

Thanks for your study on Revelation!. I have to tell you that your work has inspired me and I have become a major source of preterist apologetics in our church. I am also on our elder board and find myself often blunting the effects of dispensational thinking. Thank you to you and Hank Hanegraaff, as you both turned me away from what I now lovingly refer to as "Diss-Sensationalism."

Thank you Dr. Gentry . Your "Survey of the BOOK OF REVELATION" clearly illustrates a first century judgement through time indicators, theme , Old Testament backdrops, and the spiral nature of the book. You have greatly increased my understanding of the Bible.

I've learned more from you in the last two years than I'd learned in the previous 41 years of being a Christian. Thanks for your Survey of the Revelation!
