Note! This message is one lecture from the whole conferences series titled "Overview of Prophetic Issues" (set 163).
This lecture was given in September 2008 in an eschatology conference in upstate New York. In this lecture Dr. Gentry surveys the Gospel of Matthew. He highlights the numerous references -- direct and indirect -- that suggest that Matthew's Gospel was written (at least in part) to demonstrate that God was rejecting Israel. A great many passages in Matthew are surveyed and briefly elaborated upon.
An insightful analysis of Matthew and an effective rebuttal to dispensational claims that God will one day elevate the Jews above saved Gentiles in the Millennium. This lecture is a real eye-opener, not only for Reformed preterists, but even for stalwart dispensationalists. Dispensationalism has long leaned on Matthew as evidence for Israel's future glory. But a careful survey of this glorious Gospel shows the opposite.
