Before an audience of 200+ registered conferees, Drs. Gentry and Ice engage in a formal two hour debate regarding the question of when and how Matthew 24:1-34 must be fulfilled. Each presenter opened with carefully crafted overviews and justifications for his position. These were followed by rebuttals, cross examinations, and closing statements.
The lively debate provides important insights into and critiques of the positions of dispensational futurism and postmillennial preterism. The video supplements and expands upon the issues they deal with in their debate book published by Kregel Publications: The Great Tribulation: Past or Future? (1999).
Key issues treated include: The time text in Matthew 24:34; the setting and purpose of the Olivet Discourse; the proper interpretive approach to apocalyptic discourse; the future of the Jews in redemptive history; Daniel's Seventy Weeks; and much more!

This debate was worth listening to. Dispensationalism is the greatest hoax pulled over the 21st century church. The errors begin with the Daniel 9:27 final 7 years of the 490 year prophecy which Jesus fulfilled. Once you get what occurred during the final 7 years of Daniel's prophecy and how it relates to Daniel 9:27, Dispensationalism starts falling apart quickly.

Very good debate. Although, I wanted to hear the audience questions. After viewing several debates on this topic, I very much appreciate the brotherly love demonstrated by both debaters. This cordial is often lacking amongst Christians who engage in controversial topics both in family and friendly discussions and in professional settings. So, thank you Dr. Gentry and Dr. Ice for that example!
