And many other errors are gradually developing as it "integrates downward into the void" (to use an apt Van Til phrase).
Hyper-preterism is a new theological construct in evangelical circles. It has developed a rather enthusiastic and combative body of followers. What they lack in numbers, they more than make up for in noise.
This book offers a brief introduction, summary, and critique of the system. Don’t let your church and Christian friends be blindfolded to this new error. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.

I recommend this book to anyone who wants to understand the line of demarcation from orthodox preterism to hyper preterism.
Dr. Gentry’s writing is clear, he understands the issues, is biblical and earnestly contends for the faith once for all delivered to the saints.

I have always been blessed to read Dr. Gentry. His books are very informative, and we learn a lot about things that would not be easy to find by ourselves.

I have come late in life to preterism and postmillennialism, and I am playing "catch up" in this whole area of theology. Anything that helps me get a better grasp of the nuances of preterist truth is greatly appreciated, and Gentry's book has helped me even more than I had expected.
The book is concise and well organized,and filled with historical references I would never have found on my own.
Every chapter was helpful and informative, but I found chapters 5 and 6 to be the most helpful of all. The study of the transition texts (chapter 5) presented the Olivet Discourse issue in a refreshing and well reasoned format that helped clarify my own thinking on the passage.
Chapter 6 on the creeds helped me, an Anabaptist, understand both the place of the creeds in theological conversations. We Anabaptists have always (for the most part) held to the Apostles', Nicene, and Athanasian creeds; but have often been suspicious of the "denominational" creeds. This chapter was a refreshing review of the significance of creeds in the life and purity of the church.
Two VERY minor thing bothered me about the book. There is an apparent typo at the bottom of page 136 ("consustantial") which may have already been addressed for later printings.
The second little thing may speak more to my own compulsions, but I wish that the section headings in the book had been more highlighted than they are--bold face would have appealed more to me.
But forget about my 'nit-picking" and get this book. Especially if you are a "hyperpreterist! Or even a non-preterist. If you are not convinced by Gentry, you will be certainly be much better informed than you were.

I devoured this book then re-read it. I have referred to it often as I interact with full preterism. Buy this book. It is concise yet comprehensive and very readable.

An absolute must read!

The chapter 5 on the transition section after Matthew 24:34 is very valuable and a must read! The exposition of 1 Corinthians 15 is very powerful! Especially verses 20-28!
Jesus says believers will be raised up at the last day John 6:39-40, 11:24 and unbelievers will be condemned at the last day John 12:48! How many days are there after the last day? Zero! Nobody is left behind! Jesus says there is only one resurrection for believers and unbelievers at the same "hour" John 5:28-29!
How can anybody be a dispensationalist, premillennialist or a hyperpreterist and deny what Jesus says in these passages which could not be more clear? I wish these verses were written out and emphasized early on in these eschatology books!
Kenneth Gentry has done tremendous research!
